For the last 20 years of operations CHAWAKIM Ltd has been collecting milk, cold storing it and selling it directly to consumers. The ultimate aim of CHAWAKIM Ltd is to improve the whole value chain of the milk commodity from the stage of production through value addition to marketing. So far the organization has been able to serve well its members and their neighbors by collecting their daily production in the morning and evening. Then payment is made twice per month. The first payment is made in the middle of the month (on the 16^th day) and the second payment is made at the end of the month (on the 30^th or 31^st day).  The milk is collected and filled into aluminum containers which are then loaded into each refrigerated box body of the two trucks; a two (2) tonner mitsubish truck with carrying capacity of up to 4,000 litres and a one and half (1 ½ ) tonner Toyota truck with a carrying capacity of up to 2,000 litres.At the factory building there are 4 coolers with carrying capacity of 4,600 litres and a cold room with dimensions of 3 metres x 3 metres x 3 metres ( that is 27cubic meters). The storage capacity of the cold room is 15,000 litres. The cold milk is sold fresh at farm gate and some selected centres in Dar Es Salaam.
